Our China Engagement Strategy is designed to help UK and international universities navigate a rapidly evolving Chinese higher education and collaboration landscape. Over the past two decades, China engagement has shifted from opportunity-led recruitment to a far more complex environment shaped by regulation, regional priorities, geopolitical sensitivity, and domestic competition. Institutions now need a clear, adaptive, and institution-wide China strategy to sustain presence, relevance, and impact.

Over the last three years alone, we have designed and delivered China strategies for more than ten universities across the UK and Ireland, supporting institutions at different stages of their China journey—from re-entry and repositioning to expansion and portfolio diversification. Our work spans student recruitment, transnational education (TNE), research collaboration, industry engagement, and government-aligned initiatives, ensuring strategies are both ambitious and deliverable.

Through structured models such as 2+2 and 1+3, students are supported to transition smoothly from their home institution to an overseas degree, with clear academic expectations, progression criteria, and long-term outcomes mapped from the outset.

From initial enquiry and course selection through to application, visa preparation, and pre-departure readiness, our team provides end-to-end guidance tailored to each student’s academic background, aspirations, and personal circumstances. Once abroad—particularly in the UK—we continue to offer comprehensive academic and pastoral support, helping students adapt to new learning environments, assessment styles, and cultural expectations.
